Finally. There it is. The nip in the morning air. The geese marching across the sky in formation, as noisy as they can possibly be. The shadows on our grass as the sun sets are starting to shift and move. And every single day, the shadows come a little earlier.
It’s finally here. Welcome to the Fall 2025 Living Room at the Dupont House.
I worked on 2 new pillow covers for this fall. One is a simple, pretty leaf print by Susan Winget (of course). The other is a plaid terra cotta print from Hobby Lobby. I was so excited when I found it, I bought the whole bolt. Well, okay, there were actually only about 3 yards left…
Other than that, I pulled out all my old favorites. And just like last year, I am looking at nearly full bins that we are putting back into the attic. I seem to be coming to the realization that a little warmth and beauty sprinkled through the house does create a home that says “Welcome Fall!”. Although, the word ‘sprinkled’ may be entirely subjective!
This is the view of my Fall 2025 Living Room from the cased opening as you step into the living/dining room of the Dupont house from the front door foyer. Our furniture is a patchwork of sources. My parent’s dining table, paired up with a Facebook Marketplace china hutch.

The Dupont House Living Room in the fall, with lovely September light coming in through the windows.
A glass top wrought iron table that Sailor brought with him. It is now ‘Property Of Max’, mainly used for birdwatching and naps. (Yes, there is normally a cat bed there!).

And finally, the coffee table and the newer, large couch that Sailor and I bought together.

Patterns, textures, and fall colors fill up the Dupont house living room.
Entering from the kitchen into the other side of the living room. A chair from the home I grew up in, next to my Grandmother’s mahogany tilt table.

The other end of the living room, looking towards the foyer. The front door is on the other side of the ‘piano’ wall.
The blue window pane couch from a consignment store. My Great-Grandmother’s piano, adorned with a painting of my Great-Grandfather’s ship. (Different sides of the family!)

The piano with a little fall flair!
And here, we have the piano, joining in on the festivities and flaunting her autumn finery by way of a fall runner I found at an estate sale last year.

The piano, showing off her autumn style! (Apart from the greenery, everything you see there is ‘collected’.) (Oh wait, not the ship painting!)
The coffee table is simply a pulled together collection of stems in a bowl, a chippy candle holder and a pumpkin, or a finial. (Apparently I could not make up my mind, so the tray grouping includes either a green pumpkin, or a finial!)

Our mismatched couches…but life is life!
The footed bowl is actually a relic from Sailor’s “before me” life. Several years ago, I pulled out all the faded, faux silk flowers and spray painted it a brighter ivory. It has now become a favorite piece, especially at this time of the year. This fall 2025 living room is not the first autumn I have used it.

As you can see, I have pictures of the coffee table showing either the finial or the pumpkin. Here is the finial version!
“Chippy” is not normally a part of my particular style, but a little bit of it here and there is perfect.

Here is the coffee table version with the green pumpkin, along with a well-loved runner and fall print pillows!

And here is another ‘green pumpkin’ version of the coffee table vignette.
In the dining room of the Fall 2025 Living Room, a touch of old school. Bright fall colors, accompanied by the warmth of a rattan basket atop a black & white buffalo check runner. A handkerchief vase holds sheafs of wheat, and a green pumpkin rounds out the trio.

Together, the china hutch (courtesy of FB Marketplace) and the dining table (courtesy of my parents) send a welcoming fall message.

The Facebook Marketplace china hutch that took me months to find.
On the shelf of the hutch, a tureen full of pears, with a rooster standing guard.

A simple salute to fall; a tureen filled with pears, guarded by a rooster.
I took a big gulp when I handed over my money at Pottery Barn 10 years ago to pay for those pears. But it just goes to show that when you invest in something you will love and use for years, it is money well spent. I found the pitcher for sale at a garden booth during our local home show last year. It is ironstone, just not old ironstone!

It was this black wrought iron piece from my Grandmother that inspired this whole display. (Well, that, and how buffalo check just make me swoon!)

Buffalo check is the perfect backdrop for this vintage wrought iron wine aerator.
This piece is a wrought iron vintage wine aerator with glass decanter from the 1950’s.

Another close up of the wrought iron vintage wine aerator. Just…repurposed!
A quick eBay search brought out a huge collection of them, many for sale a startling high prices. (The photos I show below are listed here )

As you can see by the photos, an aerator and a decanter are parts of the whole structure. Since mine does not have the aerator (it did not survive our cross-country move), the monetary value is considerably less. But not to me!

A close of up of my Grandmother’s wrought iron vintage wine aerator (just minus the aerator!).
These October days are the steps to the front door of my favorite time of the year. I have loved the bright green beauty of the trees, woods and fields this past summer. But now I am ready for an extra layer against the early morning chill, and nestling in with throws, pillows and candlelight in the evenings.
May your fall be filled with the beauty of the slanting sun, the changing of the colors in the trees, and the cheerful parade of pumpkins, skeletons and turkeys that come your way!
From our house to yours~

Hi Kristine – a little Autumn loveliness indeed. You seem to have the balance just right – some go so overboard that the room gets lost in the pumpkins and leaves. I love all your little whimsical additions all mixed together with your furniture and family treasures. Thanks so much for sharing your living room with us. x
Leanne – that is what I was hoping for: just enough, but not too much! I am very blessed to be able to live with pieces passed down from family. I think it helps give my home a sense of soul. Okay, now that you have gotten me all philosophical, please know how much I appreciate you stopping by (every post!), saying hello and leaving a comment!
Beautiful, as always!
Thank you Nancy! Things seem to be getting pretty busy out there – but in a wonderfully blessed way!!
I love it all, Kristine! You have so many sentimental and unique pieces and that’s what makes the best decorated rooms in my humble opinion. The mismatched couches add such personality to the room and you know I adore that hutch. It looks perfect in every season. I hope you have a wonderful fall in your charming home.
I absolutely love this Fall 2025 living room inspiration! The cozy tones, layered textures, and elegant decor choices perfectly capture the essence of the season. It’s amazing how you’ve balanced warmth and modern style so effortlessly—truly inviting and trend-forward
Making my home cozy and inviting is always a year-round goal, so I appreciate your kind words. Thank you for stopping by.
